Loraine Rutherford - Secretary

Loraine "Lori" is the founder and secretary of the Cochise Family Advocacy Center, established in 2015. A Registered Nurse and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) for Adults, Adolescents, and Children, Lori also holds certifications as a Nurse Coder and Auditor. With over 35 years of experience at Sierra Vista Community Hospital, she has worked in nearly every capacity, including nursing supervisory roles. Currently, Lori is the primary SANE for Lori’s Place where she donates her time.

Lori's previous work in the Emergency Department highlighted the need for specialized care for victims of violent crime in a more private and comfortable environment. She and her husband, Mike, purchased the building and through much sweat and tears, opened the doors of Lori's Place to serve the community in 2016. The center provides comprehensive care, follow-up advocacy, and peer support free of charge, in collaboration with law enforcement.

A resident of Sierra Vista since 1976, Lori is active with the 1200 Club, The Arizona Folklore Preserve and regularly attends Mustang Mountain Cowboy Church. Lori and Mike have been married for 57 years and have two children and three grandchildren.
