Marketing/Peer Support

Michaela is a dedicated member of the marketing team and a compassionate peer support provider at Lori's Place. She focuses on maintaining the website, creating unique marketing products, networking, fundraising, and engaging with clients for peer support. Originally from Kansas, Michaela got married in September of 2022 and now leads an adventurous lifestyle due to her husband's career in the Army.

Outside of work, she enjoys working out at the gym and spending quality time with her husband and their beloved fur babies. Michaela earned her Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development from Pittsburg State University in December 2015. Before moving from Kansas, she was the lead teacher of a 2 ½-year-old classroom.

In April 2025, Michaela proudly graduated with a Master of Social Work from National University. Reflecting on her journey, she shares, "I have always felt a strong drive to help others and my passion for social work has been profoundly reinforced throughout my studies and life experiences." Michaela initially joined Lori's Place as an intern for her degree, but it quickly became much more than that. "It truly feels like family, and our impact on victims is inspiring. Being part of Lori's Place is truly rewarding!
